Crested Butte Music Festival this Summer
One visit to Wilder on the Taylor and you’ll understand why the Gunnison-Crested Butte region lures and inspires some of the greatest artistic minds of our time. The area hosts over 100 events a year ’97 many of them focused around art and music, namely The Crested Butte Arts Festival and The Crested Butte Music Festival.
The Crested Butte Music Festival’s 13th season, dubbed the Masters and Legends in Paradise series will feature nearly 100 artists from all over the world. The music styles represented at this five-week series (lasting from July 3 to August 5) perfectly reflect the rich culture and sophistication of the region. Jazz, bluegrass, folk, country, opera, symphony and chamber music: there’s truly something for every music lover. Glancing over the season overview you see many events that are aimed at children, focused on giving them an appreciation for great music. But seeing events like “Have a Beer with Beethoven” you’ll notice that their are plenty of opportunities for adults to kick up their boots or kick back their spurs. From arias to yodels you’ll soon realize that this is region of cultivated taste, yet it is also one that has remained quaint and unpretentious.
Falling conveniently during the Music Festival is the 38th Annual Crested Butte Arts Festival. The event, which falls on July 31 and August 1 features outstanding art, food and entertainment. The festival has chosen 175 of the greatest local, national and international artists to come to the charming old mining town to show off their works to appreciators and aficionados.
During these festivities, we would like to welcome you to come visit Wilder on the Taylor, which is only a short drive from Crested Butte. We strive to conserve this natural treasure so that you and your family can live amongst the beauty and heritage of the American West just as it was experienced by the ranchhands who first started working in the area a century ago. Imagine waking up in a preserved, pristine, bucolic Western paradise then rolling into town to see art and music inspired by the rich history and magnificent nature that is still very much alive and thriving within Wilder.
